Magazine Raise-A-Reader & Tasty Treats Fundraiser, Volunteers Needed for Fundraising Count Day!

 Magazine Raise-A-Reader & Tasty Treats Fundraiser

We are now halfway through our fundraiser!  You can shop online at QSP.ca.  Enter our School Name and shop!  Register your child(ren) to track sales your friends and family make to support your fundraising goals!  Popcorn and Sweet & Salty Pretzel rods can only be ordered on the flyer in your package. 

Please make sure all cheques are made payable to West Royalty Home and School.

All orders are due to the school no later than October 10th


Volunteers Needed for Fundraising Count Day!

We are currently looking for parent volunteers to help count orders on October 11th.  We will start counting mid day so there are day and early evening shifts available.  If you can help by volunteering 1 or 3 hours of your time, it would be much appreciated.  We need up to 10 volunteers.

Home and School Meeting , Grant Nomination, Training for Volunteers

Home and School Meeting

The Home and School Bi-monthly meeting  is scheduled for this Tuesday, September 18th at 6:00 pm.  All are welcome to attend.

Grant Nomination

West Royalty Elementary has been nominated for $250,000 grant to build a basketball court, soccer field, outdoor classroom and upgrade to ball diamond.  Show your support by going to the Kraft Grant website and post a comment in support of the project.


Training for Volunteers

What do you need to be a more efficient leader/volunteer in your home and school?

      7:00 – 8:30 p.m. 
This training is for new and returning volunteers in your school.

Welcome Back, Meet the Staff Night, Fall Fundraiser, H&S Semi-Annual Meeting, Free Volunteer Training

We hope everyone had a fantastic summer vacation.  We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you all to this school year. 


 Meet the Staff Night

Meet the Staff night will be held on Thursday, September 13that 5:30 p.m.& 6:00p.m.

Parents please go directly to their child’s class for information on routines
and curriculum.

This is a great  opportunity to meet school staff and the Home and School executive.  Come and check out the volunteer opportunities available at the school.

Fall Fundraiser

The Home and School is excited to be preparing the school's annual Fall Fundraiser that will take place from September 17 - October 11th.  The Raise-A-Reader Magazine Campaign has always been the most profitable program for our school raising over $6000 profit each year all on its own!  Thank you to everyone who continues to support this fantastic literacy fundraiser!  NEW THIS YEAR we are adding some DELICIOUS TREATS to our fundraiser!  On September 17th families will go home with the Magazine Catalogue, Popcorn Flyer and Sweet & Salty Pretzel Rods Flyer!  Orders are due back on October 11th.

Home and School Semi-Annual Meeting

The Home and School Federation is holding their Semi-Annual Meeting.  All are welcome to attend!
WHEN:Tuesday, October 23th 6:00 PM - 8.00 PM
WHERE:Central Queens Elementary School, Hunter River
WHO:Open to anyone in your school community
WHAT:An opportunity to share resources and ideas, discuss issues and opportunities, and build connections within the Home and School community on P.E.I. More details will be circulated to the membership by the end of September.

Volunteer Training Workshops

Home and School volunteer training workshops are scheduled as follows:

Wednesday, September 26th, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m., Elm Street Elementary School, 256 Elm Street, Summerside

Thursday, September 27th, 7:00–8:30 p.m., Spring Park Elementary School, 30 Dunkirk Street, Charlottetown

No Cost!  Light refreshments will be provided.

Professionals, Vicki Bryanton and Stephen Gould, will lead these workshops. Join other
volunteers and ask questions about how to run a Home & School organization and discuss
what’s happening in other schools.
