Magazine campaign
This year's magazine campaign was a success! The West Royalty H&S would like to send out a HUGE thank you to all the parents, students, family, friends and teaching staff for all your continued support with our schools primary fundraiser.  We could not do this without you! We are currently waiting for final profit numbers, and once they come in West Royalty will have a closing assembly announcing the final figures and prize winners. It is expected that the prizes will be arriving at the school over the next few weeks.

Pancake breakfast
West Royalty will be hosting a community pancake breakfast. A notice will be sent home with your child in the coming weeks.

Parent engagement session

This year West Royalty H&S is planning a numeracy night, pending approval from the Home & School federation.  More details to follow.

Indigo shop night
West Royalty will once again be teaming up with indigo to raise funds for each of the individual classrooms. Indigo will donate 20% of sales on November 25 and 26 from 5-9:30pm. Come on out and support this worthwhile fundraiser!!

Monthly meeting

We had a great turn out for our first H&S meeting held on October 13th. Thank you to all that were able to attend as we kicked off another school year. The minutes, as well as the financial statements are posted on the website for your viewing.
There has been much discussion on changing our primary fundraiser QSP to Fundscript.  With something as huge as this, the decision is not something taken lightly.  We want your input on this matter, so we are putting it to a vote.  The websites links for both these fundraising campaigns will be posted on our website for you to view, and at our next home and school meeting held November 10th at 6:30 pm in the staff room we will discuss this matter further and put it to a vote (please note in order to vote you MUST attend the meeting). We encourage you to come out and get involved.  All are welcome to attend. Another motion being put forth for voting will be to alternate our meeting nights.  One month we would meet the second Tuesday and the following month meet the second Thursday.  This change would allow people with regular monthly engagements to attend every second month.

Triple P Positive Parenting Seminar

Triple P - Takes the guesswork out of parenting

When it comes to raising kids, everyone has an opinion. There are so many ideas out there. So how do you know what’s best and what works? The Government of Prince Edward Island and community partners are taking the guesswork out of parenting, supporting parents and caregivers with the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program at low or no cost to PEI parents and caregivers.
Triple P gives parents simple tips to help manage the big and small problems of family life. Problems like toddler tantrums or teenage rebellion. Self-esteem issues. Bedtime battles. Disobedience. Aggression. Triple P can help you deal with them all – and more! And Triple P is one of the few parenting programs in the world with evidence to show it works for most families.
