Celebrated every April 22, Earth Day is the largest, most celebrated environmental event worldwide. More than 6 million Canadians join 1 billion people in over 170 countries in staging events and projects to address local environmental issues. Nearly every school child in Canada takes part in an Earth Day activity. For more on Earth Day, visit Earth Day Canada.
This year, Elizabeth Crawford's Grade 4 class has been working on a special project. Click here for the article and picture in today's Guardian to learn all about the play and book they created about water conservation, The Mermaids and the Droplets. This project was funded by ArtsSmarts P.E.I. and the P.E.I. Literacy Alliance.
Happy Earth Day!
